It's interesting to see landscape paintings of the land surrounding Oxford. I feel that the artists capture the colors Faulkner emphasized so much throughout his works.

As I get closer and closer to Oxford, I can't help but notice the spiritual value of the land around me. The land gives of its own vibration, a very positive one to say the least.

Already, there is a feel for what I am to encounter in my journey through the South. It feels as if I am driving into the old fashioned South. I am driving into the past in which Faulkner lived. It's a good feeling to think about what lies ahead; the landscapes and the people. After all, these are what inspired Faulkner the most.
